Every beginner starts here.

Think of this as the gym's front porch. Footing, the jab, and traveling without tangling your feet, inside a cycle that repeats forever — any Tuesday works, and no opening week exists to miss. Drop in some Thursday in spring or some Tuesday in fall; you'll join mid-cycle and the cycle will carry you.

What the six weeks cover

  • Stance and guard: where your feet live and where your hands live
  • The jab, thrown while moving forward, back, and sideways
  • Footwork drills: steps, pivots, and never crossing your feet
  • The cross and the one-two, built on top of the jab
  • Basic defense: catch, parry, and the high guard under pressure
  • Putting it together: three rounds on the bags with a coach at your shoulder

No sparring, no showing off

Contact never enters this room, and Lucia intends to keep it out. The rear row holds first-month faces while the front holds third-year ones honing that same jab. Many spend two to four cycles in Fundamentals, then stack Sunrise mornings and request sparring clearance only when ready.

How do I book the free class?

Send the contact form, choosing Tuesday or Thursday. Card-free, commitment-free — mention it's night one at the desk and arrive a quarter hour early.

I am completely out of shape. Is this for me?

Yes. The class is technique-first and the pace is set so a beginner can finish the hour. Conditioning comes from repetition, not from exhaustion.

What size gloves do I need?

Start with our door bin — 14 ounce suits most adults. Any coach will help you choose before the bell.

When can I spar?

Once a coach signs you off, typically after a few Fundamentals cycles. Read why nobody spars until they ask.
